International Conference on Advanced Materials and Manfacturing Processes.
The primary objective of ICAMMP 2023 is to exchange knowledge among researchers, practicing engineers, technologists about the state of art technology in advanced materials and their applications. Motivating academicians, young scientists, budding technologists, and entrepreneurs in these fields to enrich theirknowledge by interacting with their peers in their respective areas is a prime goal of the conference. The conference will be attended by research students, academicians, personnel from industry and R&D and manufacturers of various machineries and test equipment.
About the University
Vide University Act No.22 of 2021 and G.O.Ms.No.3, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Gurajada, Vizianagaram has been established and came into existence since 12-01-2022.
About the college
JNTU College of Engineering, Vizianagaram was established in the year 2007 as a constituent College of JNTU Hyderabad. JNTU Hyderabad was trifurcated into three Universities by the Andhra Pradesh Act No. 30 of 2008 and since 24th August 2008, the College has become the constituent college of JNTU Kakinada. Vide University Act No.22 of 2021 JNTU Kakinada is bifurcated, and this college has become the constituent college of JNTU Gurajada, Vizianagaram. The college has been offering undergraduate programmes in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, EEE, ECE, CSE, IT and Civil Engineering. Post graduate programmes are also introduced in various disciplines. The college is located at about six kilometres distance from Vizianagaram bus stand on a hill area in about 102 acres.
About the Department
Established in the year 2011, the Department of Metallurgical Engineering has been one of the premier centres of excellence in the field of Metallurgical Engineering. It offers quality technical education in B.Tech. (Metallurgical Materials Engineering), M.Tech. program in Materials Science and Technology, and Ph.D Programme. The department is equipped with advanced laboratories to foster research and practical expertise in areas related to Metallurgical and Materials engineering. Though it is a young department, eminent faculty members of this department have been tremendously contributing to impart knowledge to the young minds to meet the societal needs. The research areas of the department comprise in areas such as metal forming, composite materials, heat treatment, ferro alloy technology, mechanical behaviour of materials and corrosion.
About The Indian Institute of Metals
The Institute was inaugurated by the hon'ble Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Minister for Industry and Supply on Monday, 29th December 1947 at the Royal Asiatic Society Hall, Calcutta. Sri Jahangir J. Gandhy became the first President and Dr. Dara P. Antia the first Honorary Secretary of the Institute. Since then the growth of the Institute has been phenomenal. Starting with a modest membership of 42, the IIM Membership now (1999) stands more than 10,000 drawn from various fields of metallurgical activity. Membership requirements are rigid to maintain the highest professional standards. The Institute has grown into a reputed Institution devoted to promotion and advancement in the study, practice and research of Metallurgical Science and Technology. The Indian Institute of Metals is now recognized throughout the world as one of the premier metallurgical organizations. The student chapter at JNTUK College of Engineering, Vizianagaram is attached to the Visakhapatnam chapter and actively organizing several events of metallurgical importance.
Vizianagaram is the main city of the Vizianagaram District of North-eastern Andhra Pradesh in Southern India. An important centre for commerce and education, the city is located 18 km inland from the Bay of Bengal and 42 km to the northeast of Visakhapatnam. The climate of Vizianagaram is characterized by high humidity nearly all the year round, with oppressive summers and good seasonal rainfall. 500 Years of glorious past and rich cultural heritage made Vizianagaram the cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh. Many eminent personalities have added new dimensions of glory to Vizianagaram. The social reformer, Sri Gurajada, the Poet singer Sri Adibhatla Narayana Das, the great wrestler Kodi Rama Murthy, the imaginative poet Sri Devulapalli Krishna Sastry were associated, the divine singers Gantasala and Suseela who were the proud students of Maharaja College of Music added indescribable grace to the art of singing. The nearest airport is in Visakhapatnam which is about 62km from Vizianagaram.
